  3. If you have a sound card which is compatible with Sound Blaster or
  4. Pro-Audio Spectrum, and if your sound card is correctly installed,
  5. you should have no problems with sound.
  6.  
  7. The installation program automatically configures for your sound
  8. card.
  9.  
  10. If you are getting no sound at all, check to make sure that the 
  11. software installation for your sound card matches the hardware 
  12. settings on your sound card.  Also check to be sure that your 
  13. config.sys or autoexec.bat file contains the appropriate sound 
  14. card drivers.
  15.  
  16. If you are getting high-pitched noise, or heavy static, or frequent 
  17. loss of sound, chances are that you have an address or interrupt 
  18. conflict problem.  
  19.  
  20. Recommended sound card settings are: 
  21.  
  22. DMA Channel 1, Interrupt 7, Addr. 220.
  23. or
  24. DMA Channel 3, Interrupt 7, Addr. 220.
